Question: Tree work can get expensive. Do you offer financing of any sort?

Answer: Yes! We have partnered with Wisetack to offer financing for our customers. It is a soft credit pull that doesn’t affect your credit score to see if you qualify. The process is very simple. After you qualify for the amount requested through Wisetack, we do the work, you let Wisetack know the work is done, then you make your payments to Wisetack based on the terms you set up.

Question: Do you offer emergency services or storm cleanup?

Answer: Absolutely. We all know Oklahoma storms year round can damage or knock down trees. We are proud to be one of the few tree service companies that use our own cranes for our tree work. No waiting around to subcontract a crane company when a tree has blown over on your house. We offer removal, trimming and branch cleanup, and so much more. Our arsenal of equipment lets us get you cleaned up in record time so we can go help others as soon as possible.

Question: Do you always use a crane to remove a tree? Is there an extra cost associated with it?

Answer: These is probably the most common questions we get. We have been utilizing cranes in our tree business for over 22 years. They are only used when absolutely necessary and help our crews to complete work in a fraction of the time. With a crane we can remove a tree or several trees in one day that would take other crews roping and tying off 3-4 days

Question: What does it cost to remove a tree?

Answer: Every tree removal is priced specifically for each customer. It is based heavily on:

  • The size of the tree
  • Tree species
  • Location of the tree
  • The tree's proximity to power lines and structures
  • If stump grinding is needed,
  • And if the tree is structurally sound, etc.

There is so much that goes into pricing a tree removal that we have to come out to your property and do an onsite assessment. It's necessary to provide the most accurate pricing. We go out of our way to provide exceptional service at the best price and will regularly beat bids from our competitors. Give us a call for a no-obligation estimate

Question: Do you offer any discounts for your services?

Answer: Yes, we offer discounts for military and first responders. We also offer exceptional pricing and prompt service for every customer. According to NestApple, well-maintained trees can increase a home's property value by as much as 10%. Our tree experts are ready to provide the tree services you need to boost your property's appeal and overall value.

Question: How do you guys price your jobs?

Answer: The tree industry is largely misunderstood, especially the pricing procedure. If you asked three companies to evaluate your trees, you'll probably get three different recommendations and three different prices. Even if you have a defined objective, such as removing a tree, you will still get a large variance in price.

Most legitimate companies price their work based on the number of man hours the job will take, the equipment needed to perform the job properly, disposal cost, material cost and the degree of difficulty. Extremely dangerous jobs (involving power lines or close quarters) are generally bid higher due to unforeseen conditions that may delay completion of the work. Some jobs may have extensive landscaping around the trees, stone patios or sculptures which will require the technician to carefully lower limbs which will extend the time it takes to complete the job.

Ultimately, we here at Thornton’s Tree Service Oklahoma City go out of our way to make sure the job is done to your satisfaction every time

Question: When should I have my trees pruned/trimmed?

Answer: We also get this question a lot. It depends on the type of tree, time of year and what your objectives are. Contrary to popular belief, most trees here in the south can be pruned year round if you do not take into account flowering and fruit production. Oaks, for example, have been plagued by the “only trim in the hottest time or coldest time” adage for ages. As long as you adhere to only taking no more than 20-25% off of a tree at any given pruning then you should be good to go.

Flowering trees that will need some kind of crown reduction should be pruned after they flower. Pruning prior to flowering will reduce flowering and fruit production so keep that in mind when deciding to have us come out.
